UMW recognizes academic excellence!
This chart reflects consideration for the fall 2018 entering first-year class. To be considered for merit and curriculum based scholarships, first year students must meet the February 1 Regular Admission application filing date. Admitted students who meet the filing date will automatically be considered for merit scholarships based on cumulative GPA and standardized test scores (SAT or ACT), information that is already part of a complete application for admission. Merit scholarship awards will be included with the offer of admission to the University.
Check out our Washington and Alvey Scholarship opportunities.
Students interested in majoring in science are also eligible for our Jepson Scholars Program.
Students may also apply for admission without test scores. Learn more about curriculum-based scholarship consideration for students who apply and are admitted test optional.
Please visit our Net Price Calculator to better anticipate your total cost of attendance incorporating both merit scholarship awards and need based financial aid. Please visit our financial aid site for more information on other scholarships.
Prospective high school seniors now have the option to share more information with our Admissions staff as part of the admission process. Students may choose to interview in person to be considered for an additional institutional scholarship that may range from $1,000 to $2,000. Students must apply by the February 1 Regular Admission filing date and the interview must be completed by February 1 for consideration.
Students who are not in the area may set up a regional interview if staff or an alum is in your area.
