The college admission process can be both exciting and stressful for students and parents alike.  The professional staff of the UMW Office of Admissions would like to arm alumni families with the information needed to understand the process and successfully navigate the college admissions maze.  Mark your calendar and plan to join us for the

UMW Family Admission Workshop

Beginning Friday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. and
ending on Saturday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m.
Jepson Alumni Executive Center
Cost:  $100 per person

This event is designed for both parent and student (rising high school senior, junior, or sophomore) to attend together.

Workshop topics will include the following:

  • How to search for the “right” college
  • Making yourself stand out in the competition
  • What you need to know about the SAT or ACT
  • Applications essays—the good, the bad, and the ugly
  • The insider’s view—you make the call as a “member” of the UMW admissions committee
