Changes to University Events Due to Threat of Winter Weather

Due to the threat of inclement weather this week, the following schedule changes have been made to university events:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 12 – the faculty/staff mixer at Home Team Grill has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12 – the UMW basketball doubleheader at Christopher Newport will now begin at 5 p.m. The women’s game will begin at 5 and the men’s game will begin at 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12 – the Black History Month keynote lecture featuring Angela Rye has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in Monroe Hall, Room 116.
  • Thursday, Feb. 13 – the Health & Wellness Fair has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 11 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The university is closely monitoring the weather situation and will make any updates about its status through the following channels: the UMW homepage, UMW email accounts, the Information Hotline, the official UMW Facebook and Twitter pages, and television and radio stations in the Fredericksburg, Richmond and Washington, D.C. areas.
