CLASS OF 1953 • 55th Reunion

The class of 1953 will have their class picture taken at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 31. The picture will be taken on the steps of Monroe Hall during the picnic luncheon.


Dear Class of 1953:

Reunion time is here again – this year marks our 55th reunion!  We hope you will come back to campus during the weekend of May 30-June 1 and celebrate this special milestone, during Mary Washington’s centennial year.  There are so many exciting new things on the campus, including a beautiful new bell tower.  This is a perfect time to come and reconnect.

A new “Alumni College” program begins on Thursday afternoon, May 29, and continues Friday morning.  Reunion activities continue Friday afternoon, and there is a reception at Brompton on Friday evening.  After the reception, we’ll gather for a dutch-treat dinner at the Olive Garden in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping area, just off I-95.

On Saturday, May 31, we’ll take class pictures in front of Monroe Hall followed by a picnic lunch under a huge tent.  On Saturday evening, we will have reserved tables at the reunion banquet in the Great Hall, Woodard Campus Center at 7:00 p.m.

We recommend you call the new Hilton Garden Inn at (540) 548-8822 and mention that you’re with the Class of 1953.  They are holding twelve rooms for our group and we surely hope you will be able to join us.  We have reserved a suite of our own ensuring that we will have a gathering place and home base for everyone.  The special room rate for the weekend is $109.00 per night.  Our suite was $170.00 per night.  We will likely have a bushel basket at the door to accept contributions.  We hope you’ll be able to join us and we look forward to seeing you!
