The class of 1978 will have their class picture taken at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 31. The picture will be taken on the steps of Monroe Hall during the picnic luncheon.
Hello Classmates,
I hope you and yours have been well and happy since I corresponded with you last fall concerning our spring reunion at Mary Washington. I am looking forward to meeting and renewing acquaintance with many of you in May. We live in states as diverse as Hawaii, California, Texas, Ohio and Vermont as well as Virginia and there are thirty-two of our classmates who call Fredericksburg home!
A spring registration packet will be mailed to you soon from our alumni office, but I want to give you a heads-up on our Friday, May 30th class dinner. I have reserved the Ticket Office dining room at Claiborne’s for our 8:30 p.m. Dutch-treat meal and (optional) libations. I am asking you to send UMW a separate, refundable check (made out to me for $25) that will not be cashed unless you cancel less than one week before the class dinner. This money will help defray my personal contractual obligations to Claiborne’s, if you are unable to cancel or attend at the last moment. The UMW 2008 Reunion Weekend packet and our website:www.umw.edu/alumni/events will provide further information about our many, fun reunion activities.
My daughter and I recently attended Founder’s Day and the campus is looking great! Ann Carter Lee Hall is undergoing extensive renovation so the classiest trailer you have ever seen, is sitting in front of Westmoreland Hall with a veranda filled with rocking, lawn chairs. It serves as the college bookstore and is a comfy place to people watch and buy the latest UMW spirit wear.
