CLASS OF 1959 • 50th Reunion

Dear Girls,

This is it!  Our 50th!  Let’s do it!  This is the one you should, must, and I will say it, will attend!  May 29th to 31st.  Make this a major “to do” for 2009.

Registration brochures will be mailed in March.  Note special activities for us. Consider arriving on Thursday, the 28th to participate in the Alumni College.  These sessions have been extremely popular, relevant, and current.  There will be a special cocktail hour to be announced and a dinner get together that evening.  If Friday is your day of choice – arrive early.  Traffic north and south of F’burg is horrendous on a Friday.  We will have a block of rooms reserved at the new Hilton Garden Inn. Mention that you’re with the Mary Washington Class of 1959! Registration is in Virginia Hall this year.  After the Brompton reception, our 50th class dinner will be held at the Jepson Alumni Center with a slide show and much more.  

Saturday brings our class picnic under a huge tent grouped according to class year.  Our class photo will be taken on the steps of Monroe Hall -- [Let’s face it, we are a fine looking group of women.].  We will have a memorial service at the Carmen Culpeper Chappell Campanile in the afternoon followed by the Foundation Reception and Celebration Dinner.  And then to party at a Dessert festivity.  On Sunday morning, there will be a farewell brunch at the Jepson Center.  In between these activities are campus tours, faculty lectures, book signings, shopping and just plain screaming, talking, and laughing. We definitely will have fun.

When your registration brochure arrives, complete it immediately.  It can be done online.   Make your transportation plans, come with someone, and reserve your room.  The Reunion Committee has outdone itself!  What else can I say to urge you to attend?  Please, please, please come to your 50th!
