CLASS MEMBERS…

Here at last!  Time to pull out your dancin’ shoes and catch up on that “jive talkin” at the class of ’79 reunion.  Mark your calendars now for May 29 – 31, 2009.

WE’LL BE STAYING IN ONE OF TWO HOTELS where rooms have been reserved:  the Hampton Inn & Suites, located at 1080 Hospitality Lane in the Central Park section of Fredericksburg (reservation code is mwc; phone: 540.786.5530); and the Kenmore Inn located in downtown Fredericksburg at 1200 Princess Anne Street;(phone: 540.371.7622; just say you’re with Class of ’79). 

On Friday, May 29 following a 5 p.m. reception at Brompton, the home of our new president, Dr. Judy Hample, we will head to the Kenmore Inn for our class dinner party.  Dinner begins at 7 p.m.  The cost is $45 per person which includes an entrée, sides, salad, bread, dessert, and beverage.  All gratuities and taxes are included, and wine/beer for the evening may be purchased separately.  We have the run of the house, so there’s lots of time for catching up with classmates!

We would like to compile an archive of pictures from our class to present to Mary Washington as a gift from the Class of 1979.  Dig out your favorite photos and email them to Lisa Bratton Soltis at lbsoltis@aol.com no later than April 15, 2009.  We will have a slide show of the pictures at our Friday evening party.

Many of you will be hearing from Gayle Weinberger Petro, Laurie Mansell Reich, Bonnie Berry or myself…we are all volunteers for the reunion giving committee…and will be working hard to raise money for our class.  We have been asked to commemorate our reunion by making a special gift to Mary Washington.  There are many ways to give and we are happy to explain the different options to you.

Also, take a look at the list of “lost” classmates, and let the alumni office know if you have contact information for anyone on the list.  We don’t want anyone to miss this reunion and the opportunity to reconnect!

Just “How deep is your love” for Mary Washington and your great classmates?!  Deep enough that you are making your travel plans now to be in Fredericksburg on May 29 – 31 for the festivities and fun.  Call your old friends and get back to campus…Mary Washington is more beautiful than ever!!  We have a new president with exemplary ideas and our alma mater just keeps getting better, thanks to great alumni like you!
