Dear ’94 Classmates,

Earlier this summer, I met my dear friend and former MWC roommate Nell Garwood MacEachern Garvey in New York City for a terrific weekend. It had been six years since I had seen her, and the first thing I did when I saw her was burst into tears. Throughout that weekend, I was overcome by the feeling that I get whenever I spend time with my friends from Mary Washington, the feeling that no one “gets me” like the people with whom I went to college. It is so important to stay in touch with the people who knew us during those four very important years of our lives when we were discovering who we are and what we want out of life. We all have another opportunity to reconnect with our MWC family during Reunion Weekend 2009.

Four years ago we had a wonderful time visiting and reminiscing about our glory days at Mary Washington College. If you thought our ten-year reunion was fun, you’ll love how Reunion Weekend has changed to become even better for our fifteen year reunion. Reunion Weekend 2009 will include more time to hang out with your classmates, activities for your kids, a chance to be a student again, and a tour of all the new facilities at UMW. The Alumni Association has transformed the reunion picnic into an event not to be missed, and they have added a new event on Saturday night called “Dessert Under the Stars.” Even more exciting is a new event on Friday night--the Class of ’94 party. You will be receiving a registration packet from UMW, and you can also register online and check on updates.

We hope you will reserve the weekend of May 29-31, 2009.  It just wouldn’t be the same without you.
