We are sure it has been a while since you have heard those words, but we know that they conjure up many memories of your time at Mary Washington and in Fredericksburg. It’s hard to believe it is time to start thinking about our 10-year reunion. We are sure you received the save-the-date postcard and have marked your calendar for May 28 – 31, 2009.
Reunion Weekend is our first opportunity to reconnect with old friends and create new memories. It is a chance to celebrate weddings, babies, and career advancements while reminiscing about our time on campus. While some of you have been back to campus since graduation, many of you have not. There have been some major construction projects to include a 20,000 square foot fitness center, an indoor tennis facility, a parking deck, the Carmen Culpeper Chappell ’59 Centennial Campanile, and the Jepson Alumni Executive Center.
The planning committee is hard at work organizing events for both you and your family. Reunion Weekend activities will include a Friday night dinner (at a local restaurant), tours of campus, a picnic, children’s activities, and a class picture. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn for alumni attending Reunion Weekend. This Reunion Weekend website will be updated soon to include details about the Friday night dinner, hotel information, and the schedule of events.
We hope that you are able to travel back to campus to reconnect with your Mary Washington friends and relive all of the great memories. We also ask that you please pass this information along to friends who we may have lost touch with. The Reunion Planning Committee will keep in contact with you over the next months with more information about the weekend. Please contact any of the committee members if you have questions, would like to be involved in Reunion Weekend, or if you would like to make a gift to Mary Washington.
