Student/Alumni Career Networking Reception

This reception gives current students an opportunity to meet with UMW alumni in the DC-Metro area to talk informally about graduate school, careers, and the job market.  If you are currently in graduate school, you can help these students prepare for what is ahead.  If you are a recent graduate, you can provide tips on how to find a job, how you related internship experience to your current position, and how to prepare for a job search.  If you are well into your profession, you can speak about trends in the industry and describe your own career path.  While many of those attending the reception will be graduating seniors, the event is open to all interested students.  They have been informed that this is an opportunity to ask questions and learn from alumni, not for distributing résumés or scheduling interviews.  We suggest business casual attire.

Free parking is available behind the hotel at street level

From I-495: Take I-66 East to Glebe Road (Exit 71.)  The hotel is just off the exit ramp to your right (Fairfax Drive.)

From Washington, DC: Take I-66 West for 6 miles to Glebe Road South (Exit 71.)  Turn right at the third  light onto Fairfax Drive.  The hotel will be on your left.

From I-395: Exit at Glebe Road North and continue for 3 miles to Fairfax Drive.  Turn left (the hotel will be on yourleft.)

Via Metro: Take the Orange Line to Ballston.  Exit the station and proceed down Fairfax Drive (to your left) for two blocks.  The hotel will be on your left.
