UMW Riding Team Advances to National Show for First Time in 14 Years
April 13, 2008The University of Mary Washington riding team competed at the zone championships today at Randolph College in Lynchburg, and finished in second place, thus advancing the full team to national show held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on May 8-11. Junior Jessica Van Brocklin and Freshman Shannon Brown won their respective classes for the team competition. •more

UMW Riding Team Wins Pair of Weekend Shows; Clinches Regional Championship
February 24, 2008The University of Mary Washington won a pair of weekend shows at Hazelwild Farm, and in the process clinched the regional championship. The Eagles defeated the other 12 teams by 14 points on Saturday, with the College of William & Mary placing second. On Sunday, Goucher finished in second place, 10 points behind the Eagles. •more
UMW Riding Team Competes at Holiday Tournament of Champions
December 2, 2007The University of Mary Washington riding team was invited to the "Holiday Tournament of Champions" in Mount Olive, New Jersey hosted by Centenery College. The team placed ninth out of the 26 teamsin their first-ever appearance in the event. •more

November 4, 2007After battling back and forth all day, the University of Mary Washington riding team finished second at the University of Richmond show by one point to Goucher College. First place finishes include Sarah Leavitt in Novice Fences, Hannah Woll in Novice Flat, Shannon Brown in Advanced Walk Trot Canter, Catarina Brokaw in Walk Trot and Jen Hogue in Walk Trot. •more
