Junior Sarah Pierson scored on a penalty corner less than two minutes into the second half, as the University of Mary Washington field hockey team defeated Villa Julie College, 1-0, on Sunday in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinals in Owings Mills, Md. UMW improves to 11-8 on the season, and will visit top-seeded Salisbury University in the CAC semifinals on Wednesday at 3 p.m. •more
