Kennedy, Kimmelman Named Women's Lax All-Americans by IWLCA

University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse freshmen CATHERINE KENNEDY (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) and ALLIE KIMMELMAN (Burke, Va./Robinson) were named as All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Wednesday. The duo become the first freshmen All-Americans in program history.

University of Mary Washington freshman attacker CATHERINE KENNEDY (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) has been named as a third team All-American by the website womenslacrosse.com on Friday. Kennedy also joined freshman ALLIE KIMMELMAN (Burke, Va./Robinson) on the site's national All-Rookie Team.

UMW Women's Lacrosse Places Five on All-Region Team

The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team has placed five players on the All-Chesapeake Region Teams, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association today. The Eagles saw freshmen Catherine Kennedy and Allie Kimmelman, as well as senior Emily Gallugi named to the first team, with freshman Jenny Atmar and sophomore Katie Wallis placed on the second team.

UMW Women's Lax Falls to #11 Catholic, 19-14, in NCAA Tournament Second Round

The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament with Saturday's 19-14 loss to 11th ranked Catholic University in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles close the year with a record of 14-8.

UMW Women's Lax Tops Christopher Newport in NCAA Tourney 1st Round, 13-9

The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team used a solid second half defensive effort in topping Christopher Newport University, 13-9, on Wednesday night in Newport News, Va., in a game delayed for two hours and 22 minutes by lightning at the outset. The Eagles (14-7) will advance to face Catholic University on Saturday in Salisbury, Md., at 2:30 p.m.

Wallis Leads UMW Women's Lax Past #19 St. Mary's in CAC Semifinals, 23-17

Sophomore Katie Wallis scored seven goals and added a pair of assists to lead the University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team to a 23-17 win at #19 St. Mary's College in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament semifinals on Tuesday afternoon in St. Mary's City, Md. The Eagles, who also received five goals from Catherine Kenendy and a goal and five assists fromn Allie Kimmelman, improve to 13-6 on the season, and will visit #1 ranked Salisbury University on Friday for the 2009 CAC Championship.

UMW Women's Lacrosse Tops York, 18-5, in CAC Tourney First Round

The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team used three goals and two assists from freshman Allie Kimmelman and three scores from Catherine Kennedy in topping York College, 18-5, in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament First Round on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 12-6 on the season, and will visit second-seeded St. Mary's College on Tuesday in the CAC semifinals.

University of Mary Washington freshman attacker Catherine Kennedy was named the NCAA Division III Rookie of the Week by womenslacrosse.com on Tuesday. Kennedy led the Eagles to a pair of wins this week, starting with a six-goal, three-draw control game against Christopher Newport. She added four goals and an assist as well as two draw controls in the come-from-behind win over Virginia Wesleyan.

Butler's Goal With :02 Remaining Leads UMW Women's Lax Past Va. Wesleyan, 12-11

Junior Brittany Butler scored the game-winning goal with two seconds remaining to cap an improbable rally in leading the University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team to a 12-11 victory over Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday at the Battleground. Trailing 11-8, the Eagles scored four goals in the final 3:34 of the game, including two in the final 21 seconds.

The Eagles improve to 10-5 on the season, while the Captains fall to 9-3.

The Eagles fall to 7-4 overall, and 3-1 in CAC play, while the Seahawks improve to 9-2 and 4-0.

#18 UMW Women's Lacrosse Blanks Hood, 19-0, in CAC Contest; Dana Hall Earns Lax Victory #200

Freshman Catherine Kennedy scored five goals and added two assists to lead the 18th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team to a 19-0 victory over Hood College in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday at the Battleground. Freshman Lauren Callison scored twice and added four assists, and junior Brittany Butler added three goals and three assists for the Eagles, who improve to 7-3 on the season. UMW head coach Dana Hall earned her 200th career lacrosse victory with the win.
