Four Eagles Named to All-CAC Softball Team
April 23, 2008The University of Mary Washington softball team, runners up in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament, have placed four players on the 2008 All-CAC team, released today. Junior pitcher Kirsten Rowell, junior outfielder Cathy Hull, senior third baseman Ashley Sifer, and sophomore shortstop Kaitlin Petrella were named to the team as well. •more
UMW Softball Tops Villa Julie, Falls to Salisbury in CAC Championship
April 20, 2008The University of Mary Washington softball team topped Villa Julie College, 3-2, on Sunday in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament to reach the championship, but fell at Salisbury, 8-0, in the final. The Eagles close the season with a record of 25-16. •more

UMW Softball Tops Villa Julie in CAC Tourney Opener, 3-2
April 15, 2008Senior catcher Sarah Axelson went 2-3 at the plate and knocked in the eventual game winning run in the sixth inning to propel the University of Mary Washington softball team to a 3-2 win over Villa Julie College on Tuesday in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. The Eagles will visit York College on Thursday at 4:15 in the second round. •more

UMW Softball Splits CAC Doubleheader with Salisbury
April 10, 2008The University of Mary Washington softball team split its Thursday afternoon doubleheader with visiting Salisbury University to move to 22-15 on the season, and 9-3 in Capital Athletic Conference play. Salisbury won the opener, 3-2, and UMW took the second game, 5-3. •more
