UMW Men's tennis Sends Loden, Murata, and James to NCAA National Individual Tournaments
May 6, 2008The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team, returning to the NCAA National Quarterfinals for the first time in four years, will also see juniors John james and Randy Loden advance to the national singles tournament and Loden and partner Kaz Murata advance to the doubles flight at the NCAA Championships at bates College in Lewiston, Maine on May 13-18. James and Loden's advancement in the singles tournament marks the first time in program history the Eagles have had two players in the national 32-player singles draw. •more

#13 UMW Men's Tennis Tops #4 Trinity TX, 5-4, in NCAA Tourney Third Round
May 4, 2008In one of the most thrilling comebacks in school history, the 13th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team overcame a 4-1 deficit to knock off fourth ranked Trinity (Tx.) University, 5-4, on Sunday in the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at the Battleground. The Eagles move to 22-6 on the season, and will move on to the NCAA Division III National Championships at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine for the first time in four years on May 13-18. •more

May 3, 2008The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Washington & Lee University, 5-4, in a thrilling match in the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 21-6 on the season, and will host fourth ranked Trinity University (Texas) on Sunday at noon, with the winner advancing to the NCAA National Championship event. •more

UMW Men's Tennis to Host First Three Rounds of NCAA Tournament This Weekend
May 2, 2008The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team will host one of eight NCAA regionals this weekend at the Battleground. The Eagles, ranked 12th in the nation, will be the secod seed, and along with top seed in the regional Trinity (Tx.) University will receive a first round bye. On Friday, third seeded Washington & Lee University will face sixth seeded Messiah College at 11 a.m., and fourth seeded Stevens Institute will face fifth seeded Neumann at 9 a.m. •more

April 20, 2008The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team avenged a regular season loss to 22nd ranked Salisbury University by defeating the Sea Gulls, 7-2, on Sunday in the Capital Athletic Conference championship in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles, 20-6 on the season, win their ninth straight CAC title, and will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships next month. •more
