Five UMW Athletes Represented on VaSID All-State Teams
December 29, 2008University of Mary Washington junior volleyball player Anne Lutkenhaus and four UMW field hockey players have been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors' all-state teams.
UMW's Lutkenhaus, Hueber Named to All-CAC Volleyball Teams; Shiflett Named CAC Rookie of the Year
November 11, 2008University of Mary Washington junior Anne Lutkenhaus (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) and senior Kelley Hueber (Grapevine, Texas/Grapevine) have been named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference volleyball teams, as was released by the league today. Freshman Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va./Fort Defiance) was named the league's Rookie of the Year.
UMW Volleyball Falls at Salisbury in CAC Semifinals, 3-1
November 6, 2008The University of Mary Washington volleyball team jumped out to an early lead, winning the first set, but fell in four at 20th ranked Salisbury University, 3-1, on Thursday night in Capital Athletic Conference semifinal action at the Maggs Center. Set scores were 15-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-20; UMW closes the season with a record of 19-11.
UMW Volleyball Tops Gallaudet, 3-0, in CAC Tourney 1st Round
November 4, 2008The University of Mary Washington volleyball team used a balanced attack in defeating Gallaudet University, 3-0, on Tuesday night at Goolrick Gymnasium in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament First Round. Set scores were 27-25, 25-22, 25-13.
UMW Volleyball Falls to Bridgewater in Regular Season Finale, 3-0
October 31, 2008The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a tight 3-0 contest to Bridgewater College on Friday night, dropping its first match in its last eight to close the regular season with an 18-10 record. Set scores were 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.
UMW Volleyball Tops Hood, 3-0, in CAC Finale
October 29, 2008The University of Mary Washington volleyball team closed the Capital Athletic Conference regular season slate with a 3-0 victory over Hood College on Wednesday night at Goolrick Gymnasium. UMW improves to 18-9 overall and 5-3 in CAC play, while the Blazers fall to 2-18 and 0-8. Set scores were 25-16, 25-6, 25-13.

October 25, 2008The University of Mary Washington volleyball team defeated Lynchburg College, 3-0, on Saturday at Homecoming in the team's Dig Pink fundraiser match. Set scores were 25-19, 25-14, 25-13. The Eagles improve to 17-9 on the season.

October 16, 2008Junior hitter Anne Lutkenhaus scored 17 kills and 18 digs, and senior hitter Kelley Hueber added 14 kills to lead the University of Mary Washington volleyball team to a five-set victory over visiting Virginia Wesleyan College on Thursday night at Goolrick Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-17, 22-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-11.

September 25, 2008University of Mary Washington senior volleyball player Kelley Hueber (Grapevine, Texas/Grapevine) has been featured on the Capital Athletic Conference website in a new feature called "Introducing...". Hueber is the first conference athlete to be featured.
