Choosing a Major - Enables students to develop a plan to determine which major to pursue by focusing on the decision-making process and exploring the possibilities available.

WorkshopWe Shoot, We Score! Obtaining the Perfect Internship - Helps students learn about the process of obtaining an internship for academic credit. The session will include information on academic credit bearing internships, how to obtain an internship, the paperwork necessary for credit, how to obtain an advisor, and ways to get the most out of the experience. 

It's All About Me: Creating Your Perfect Internship Experience - This presentation is very similar to the We Shoot, We Score! Obtaining the Perfect Internship program, except that there is a bit more discussion about how to create your own personalized internship to meet your unique learning objectives and goals.

Prepare yourself for the Ultimate Road Trip - This assembly-style presentation provides first and second year college students with important information on how to survive their first two college years and how use their entire college experience to drive themselves toward future career success. Emplyer fair 2007

Résumé Writing from A-Z - This workshop provides an overview of various ways to present experience in an employer-friendly format.  The presenter will talk about what a résumé contains, length of a résumé, how to highlight your strengths, and common résumé problems.

Knock em' Dead in the Interview - Provides an overview of various types of interviews and interview questions, along with ways to present yourself effectively. 

Graduate School Information Session - Topics discussed include application procedures, a time line for applying, how to choose a school and program, and financial resources. 

Job Search Strategies - Provides an overview of all of the strategies that can be used within a job search. The workshop also covers which strategies are most effective.

Dressing for the Interview - Information is provided about how to dress professionally for the interview. 

Life After UMW- This workshop provides students with information pertinent to their upcoming transition, apartment hunting/leases, insurance, budgeting, and more.

Last Chance Workshop- This end of the semester workshop will address three of the top career development issues facing college students. Topics include a brief review of: résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, job search strategies.

Six Degrees of Separation: Networking Strategies- Students will receive a review of networking techniques, the many networking opportunities that UMW offers, and preparation to attend the Northern Virginia Networking Reception at the end of January.

Working a Career Fair: The workshop will focus on techniques that will allow students to standout amongst the crowd. The presenter will discuss what employers are looking for in job fair attendees, questions to ask employers, and how to prepare to attend a fair.

Discover Your Leadership Style Through the Myers-Briggs- Enables students to increase self-awareness and leadership qualities through an analysis of their MBTI type preference. Students must complete the paper format of the MBTI before attending the workshop.
