Partnering with Career Services

Career Services offers the following resources and services for faculty. We look forward to collaborating with you and welcome student referrals.

Don’t Cancel Class: Career Services schedules in-class presentation on career-related information by major or class status. Contact Gary Johnson at least two weeks prior to schedule a presentation on your topic of choice (résumé development, business etiquette, careers within a major, etc.) and don’t worry about canceling an upcoming class because of a conference or other anticipated conflict.

Department Programs: If your department would like to collaborate with Career Services on major related programs or events call 654-1022 to inquire. Career Services can also advertise programs or events if your department already has an ongoing career program in place. Forward the event information to casv@umw.edu and request that the event be publicized on our Calendar of Events web page.

Career Fairs: Career Services hosts two career fairs during the academic year. Career Day is held in the fall on the Fredericksburg campus and Employer Fair is held in the spring at the Stafford campus. Faculty members are invited to both fairs to mingle with the employers. Encourage students to attend to learn about careers in their field, research companies, or apply for full-time or internship positions.
