Chemistry Minor

Requirements for the Chemistry Minor
Twenty-three (23) to twenty-five (25) credits including:

  1. CHEM 111, CHEM 112,
  2. one of the following sequences: CHEM 211 / CHEM 212 or CHEM 253 / CHEM 254, and
  3. three courses (7-9 credits) from CHEM 317,318, 319, 331, 332, 343, 345, 383, 384, and 387. Note - no more than one of these three courses may be a laboratory course.

Computer Science Minor

Requirements for the minor in Computer Science (20 credits):

  1. CPSC 220
  2. CPSC 230
  3. Any three (3) CPSC courses numbered 300 or above, for a total of at least 9 credits
  4. Any additional CPSC course, of at least 3 credits, numbered 100 or higher

ASIAN STUDIES MINOR

Requirements for the Asian Studies Minor

Twenty-four (24) credits including two semesters (6 credits) or the equivalent of an Asian language (the language credits apply to one language, taken in sequence; the language may be taken at UMW or at an outside institution or as part of a study abroad program for transfer credit); six additional non-language courses, representing at least two different academic disciplines, of which a minimum of 9 credits must be at the 300 level or above. A maximum of 6 credits Individual Study and/or Internship may count toward fulfilling the minor requirements.

Sustainability Minor

Requirements for th Sustainability Minor (Minimum of 18 credits)

Three required core courses totaling nine (9) credits:

French Minor

The minor in French requires 24 credits. Students must complete FREN 201 and 202 (or the equivalent), FREN 311, FREN 312, and any four (4) additional FREN classes at or above the 300-level.

Biology Minor

Requirements: 22-23 credits of courses designated BIOL to include:

  1. BIO 210A Introduction to Ecology and Evolution
  2. BIOL 211 Cellular Biology
  3. BIOL 341 Genetics
  4. Plus three (3) additional 300-400 level Biology courses of which 2 must have a laboratory component.

BIOL 481, 491 and 499 may not be counted for minor credit.
