Publications
The 2008 - 2009 Parents and Families Academic Brochure: This Parents and Families Brochure (PDF) has been designed to answer academic questions frequently asked by the families of UMW students. It does not replace the specific details of the academic program and its procedures, policies, and regulations that appear in the University of Mary Washington
Academic Catalog, the Dictionary
of Academic Regulations, and other publications that your student will receive. The Brochure also includes a check list of things to go over with your student, as well as conversation starters.
The Dictionary
of Academic Regulations: Furnishes the information a
student needs for planning and completing a B.A., B.S., or B.L.S. degree
program at the University of Mary Washington. Since final responsibility
for meeting all degree requirements rests with the individual student,
each student should have complete knowledge of the regulations pertaining
to the academic program of the University. Some of the topics covered in this publication include: classification, probation, suspension, dismissal, overloads, underloads, etc.
Contact
Contact Form: This form may be used for comments or questions and will be delivered to Carol Stevens, Assistant Dean of Academic Services and Parent Liaison. Please note that no UMW representative may discuss details about a student if the student has not signed a Release of Information form specifying who we may speak with. Please see the Dictionary of Academic Regulations for details on the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We can, however, always answer general questions about our policies, regulations, and procedures.
