Transfer Students

Art History and Studio Art students who transfer from another institution and plan to complete their degree programs at UMW should declare their major as soon as at least 28 academic credits toward the degree are met. Doing so is crucial for enrolling in upper-level courses in Art History and Studio Art.

Studio Art

Transfer students entering the Studio Art program with second-semester junior status or as seniors are not eligible for Major or Senior Assessments (including participation in a senior exhibition). Only those who complete a majority of UMW upper-level courses in the major will have the option. All Studio Art transfer students are strongly encouraged to meet with their major advisors as soon as possible to determine eligibility for assessment.
