The goals of the course are to familiarize the student to University of Mary Washington as well as to the Bachelor of Liberal Studies program, to help the student become a more competent and confident student by reviewing and practicing techniques that contribute to successful learning, and to meet other BLS students and identify common problems and concerns which can be addressed by the class.

The orientation course, BLST 100, is optional and offered each fall and spring semester and carries one credit, on a pass/fail basis.
