Individual Study in Computer Science

Our students and faculty enjoy working together and there are many opportunities for qualified students to explore their specialized interests through individual study courses, some of which culminate in 2-semester projects that merit Departmental Honors. Mary Washington College is committed to undergraduate research and offers funding for student projects on a competitive basis. Some recent student projects have included work in computer graphics, parallel processing, programig mobile devices, neural networks, and language translation. Several of our students have particpated in the Summer Science Institute. Students may also showcase their projects at our annual Computer Science Department Symposium.

Internships have been completed at local technical firms, government offices, and software development agencies.
