SOCIETY FOR WORLDWIDE INTERBANK FINANCIAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC.  SCHOLARSHIPS

The Society for World Interbank Financial Telecommunications, Inc., with its U.S. Operating Centre in Culpeper, VA, has generously funded scholarships of approximately $1,500.00 to be awarded to each of two current computer science majors.

The following are the criteria for selection of the recipients.

  1. The recipients will have declared Computer Science as their major area of study.
  2. The recipients will receive the grant, initially, at the beginning of their junior year.
  3. The recipients must have a demonstrated financial need.
  4. The recipients must have, and maintain, an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and at least 3.0 within the Computer Science major.
  5. Primary consideration will be given to students residing in the counties of Culpeper, Rappahannock, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania, Fauquier, the City of Fredericksburg, or the Northern Virginia area.
  6. Selection of recipients will be the responsibility of the Associate Dean for Financial Aid in consultation with the Chairman of the Computer Science Department.
  7. The scholarship will be renewable for the recipients' senior year of study if all criteria still can be met.
The scholarships shall be awarded before the end of the current semester and will be applied towards the recipients' next year's fees.
