Scholarships and Financial Aid

UMW has been nationally recognized as a “best buy” in higher education because of our exceptional teaching faculty and small class size which come at an affordable price. Although we are a public college, funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia, our exceptional value means that we are often compared to many other high-priced private schools. In addition to our remarkably low cost, the College offers scholarships through the Alumni Scholarship Program with varying awards up to an amount equal to in-state tuition and fees for select individuals. To be eligible, you must apply for Honors Admission. In addition, the College offers more than $15 million in aid to students through a comprehensive program that offers a number of ways to help students with the expenses of their education.
