Position Description/Responsiblities:
The Museum of Anthropology is an international leader in anthropological archaeology research and student training. Our world class research collections include materials from all continental areas, with particular strengths in eastern North America and Asia.

This position will be responsible for supervision of the rehousing and organization of the Museum's Ethnobotanical collections.
- development of "Rehousing Guidelines"
- standardization of labels and tracking information for collections being rehoused; physically transferring collections from old cabinets and storage containers to newly purchased cabinets and containers.
- working with wet specimens in the collections, topping off liquid and storing properly
- database management for the project
-train, instruct and supervise temporary employees on the proper procedures for cataloging, handling of objects, rehousing protocols.
- Coordinate schedules to ensure project stays on time line.
- oversee purchasing of new storage cabinets, boxes, and general supplies during project period.

Public outreach
- assist researchers visiting/studying collections
- answering inquiries regarding collections from the general public.

Other duties as assigned in the ethnobotanical collections

Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in an area related to Museum Studies with 2-5 years of experience in Collection Management, and/or a field related to botany/herbarium collections. Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute/delegate tasks, ability to be flexible and work collaborative in a team environment. Some lifting up to 50 lbs. and some climbing required. Proficiency with computers and computer programs, especially MS access, excel and database management.
