Administrative Assistant


The Administrative Assistant for the Block Museum organizes and coordinates the activities of the Director's office and serves as the first point of contact for museum constituencies with the Director's office

Specific Responsibilities:

Overseeing the organization and functioning of the Director's office;
Scheduling standing and ad-hoc committee meetings as required by the director;
Serving as the first point of contact for museum constituencies with the Director's office;
Managing ongoing and one-time initiative of the office of the Director (such as accreditation, developmental social events, meetings);
Maintaining the Director's schedule and assisting with travel arrangements;
Scheduling and recording the Museum's Board of Advisors quarterly meetings;
Providing clerical assistance for the Friend's Leadership Council membership renewals and drives and administer their prog ram needs and schedules;
Attending bi-monthly Council meetings;
Managing Museum computer systems maintenance and upkeep;
Performing related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills and abilities may be acquired;
Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, prioritizing, multi-tasking, leadership, and interpersonal skills;
Accurate in all undertakings, particularly in the preparation of letters and documents;
Ability to represent the Museum professionally and cordially with a variety of diverse constituencies, including faculty, supporters, national and international visiting scholars, museum professionals;
Experience in project management;
Extensive knowledge working in arts or other cultural environment;
Two-years experience working in arts or other cultural environment.
