Program Specialist I, Education

(Full-Time, $23660.00 - $27000.00)

THIS IS A ONE-YEAR POSITION WITH RENEWAL POSSIBLE BASED ON AVAILABILITY OF FUNDING.
Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Museum of Natural History's educational programs. Assists with the design and development of educational and interpretive programs and materials.
Develops, coordinates, and instructs workshops and activities for children and families, such as Spike's Club, Summer Explorers, and Scout Badge Days.
Develops and coordinates field trip programming for a variety of audiences.
Develops and coordinates public program events such as Spring Break Escape, Family Days and Family Science Nights.
Plans, develops and instructs programs for school groups and adults.
Represents the museum education department at local and regional events such as SeptemberFest, ScienceFest, and career fairs.
Assists with development and maintenance of educational components of exhibits.
Researches, develops and writes supplemental curricula materials for programming for school groups, children and families.
Cares for small number of live animals used in exhibits and educational programming.
Performs related duties as assigned.
May supervise volunteers and student assistants on specific projects.
Receives general supervision from a Head of Education.
