James Farmer Scholars Kennedy Center Trip
On September 29, 2009 the James Farmer Scholars will be heading to Kennedy Center to enjoy a VSA arts Playwright Discover: "For the Love of Goldfish". The cost of the event will be $10.00 per scholar.
The VSA arts Playwright Discovery Program is a national play writing competition in which students grades sixth through twelfth are asked to write a one-act play on the topic of disability. This year's winning play, For the Love of Goldfish, is a comedy about love, self-esteem, and the importance of being honest. The performance is an excellent disability awareness tool for the classroom, and is useful to the students with and without disabilities.
