Campus Life

When you come to the Fredericksburg campus, you will be charmed by the "park-like" setting, which invites visitors to toss a blanket onto a lush green lawn to read on a Saturday afternoon, take walks along the brick paths which extend throughout the campus, or rest on a wooden bench surrounded by the beauty of picturesque landscaping. Students will appreciate the pleasant atmosphere of the campus, which provides an attractive place to live as well as one that is conducive to studying.

Throughout the academic year, public events such as concerts, lectures, the bi-annual Fredericksburg Forum, theatre productions, and gallery exhibits are available to all members of the UMW community. Many activities are free, or admission is discounted for students with a valid ID card. For more information, visit our University Calendar of Events.

There are also student-only activities in the various recreational facilities on the Fredericksburg campus. The Office of Student Activities and Community Services sponsors events such as Devil-Goat Day, Carnaval, and the weekly Spring into Fridays.

Undergraduate students at the Fredericksburg campus have a choice of over 80 clubs and organizations with every possible interest. For more information, visit the Student Activities Web site.
