Foreign Film Series 2008

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Mary Washington is offering a foreign film series beginning in January.  Six films will be shown in George Washington Hall, Dodd Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.  They are open to the public without charge and have English subtitles..

Life of Others The series begins with THE LIVES OF OTHERS on Wednesday, January 16. In East German, the Ministry of State Security, the notorious Stasi, penetrated virtually every aspect of life. This Oscar-winning film pictures captures the effects that a culture of permanent suspicion and total surveillance had on the average citizen.
