Welcome to the Office of Student Activities and Community Service!
The Office of Student Activities and Community Service (OSACS)
is the home to a myriad of student activities on campus. We are here to assist students as they propose, develop, and execute plans for events and programming. We work very closely with our student organizations as they engage other students in the planning of campus-wide concerts/shows and our traditional events.
To keep you informed as to what is happening on campus, a new interactive Google calendar of events is available on this web page for your convenience.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission at OSACS is to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to promote programs and opportunities for students to not only have fun on campus, but to develop interpersonal, organizational, leadership and citizenship skills. We encourage students to explore their own skills, interests and values and to learn to respect the values and beliefs of others. We hope our students will become proponents of positive social change in their present and future communities.
The office engages students and encourages these skills and personal growth in the following ways:
• Providing support to student organizations in ways ranging from group advising to workshops and retreats.
• Facilitating involvement in the surrounding community through projects and service opportunities. Some of the programs include Habitat for Humanity, After School Tutoring, blood drives, food drives, and fund raising projects for charity.
• Providing a social and recreational outlet by creating and sustaining programming spaces and supporting the activities held there.
• Supporting a sense of community on campus through traditions and celebrations to include Devil Goat Day, Rocktoberfest, Junior Ring Week, Senior Countdown, Senior Week, Halloweens, and Spring Formal.
• Challenging students to explore new perspectives and experiences.
