SELECTION TIMELINE

  • Week of January 26 - Housing information reminder e-mailed to students studying abroad for the spring semester.
  • Week of January 26 – Mandatory Hall Meetings for those residents participating in housing selection.  Exact time and location will be posted in each residence hall by building staff.
  • Monday, February 2 – Friday, February 13 –Contracts accepted via Eaglelink portal for all current residential students. Students on approved leave, including Study Abroad, need to submit a paper copy of the contract along with a $200 housing deposit by February 13 unless they are participating in the homesteading process.
  • Wednesday, February 2 - Friday, February 13 - Homesteading same room on-campus and same apartment form to be submitted in the Residence Life Office, Marye House, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day; deadline 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13. No homesteading will take place after this date.
  • Friday, February 13 – Medical Housing & AC Requests – completed applications by student and physician are due to the Office of Disability Services in GW no later than 4:00 p.m. Fore more information and forms, please refer to the Disability Services website.
  • Friday, February 13, 4:00 p.m. Deadline for Housing Contract submission and to Homestead.  No late contracts will be accepted.  No homesteading will take place after this time. 

    Tuesday, February 17 – The Spring Housing Social will be held for all residential students to meet with Hall Council Members from different buildings and review information on the residence halls before making a selection.

  • Monday, February 23 -- Housing Lottery numbers will be posted by noon on the Residence Life website and the Office of Residence Life in Marye House. Students will be notified of individual lottery numbers via EagleMail.
  • Wednesday, February 25– Medical Housing Accommodations – Marye House 9:00 – 11:30 a.m., rising seniors; 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., rising juniors and sophomores on a first come, first served basis. Accommodated students and/or their preferred roommates must be present or be served by proxy. Those who do not finalize their accommodations on this date will select housing during General Housing Selection in March.
  • Thursday, February 26 – Displaced Homesteading – Marye House – Rising Seniors and Juniors 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. and from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. See section “Displaced Homesteading” for details.
  • Friday, February 27 - Spring break begins at 5 p.m. Residence halls close promptly at 9:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 9 - Spring Break ends; Residence halls open promptly at 2:00 p.m. (Please do not arrive early - students will not be able to access the building prior to 2:00 p.m.)
  • Thursday, March 12 – Current RAs and their roommates finalize housing assignments from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.  If both the RA and roommate are not able to come together, a completed proxy form is required for the absent student. Individuals who are not returning as Residence Life staff members and their roommates will also select housing during this time.

General Housing Selection Process Timeline

  • Monday, March 16 – Housing Selection for rising 5th year seniors and graduate students. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House.
  • Wednesday, March 18 – Housing Selection for rising seniors. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House.
  • Monday, March 23 – Housing Selection for first half (by lottery number: 604-832) of rising juniors. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House. *
  • Tuesday, March 24– Housing Selection for second half (by lottery number: 834-1061) of rising juniors. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House. *
  • Thursday, March 26 – Housing Selection for first half (by lottery number: 1062-1385) of rising sophomores. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House.*
  • Sunday, March 29 – Housing Selection for second half (by lottery number: 1386-1708) of rising sophomores. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House.
  • Tuesday, March 31 - Housing Selection for 2nd year freshmen. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Selection begins promptly at 6 p.m. Information and pre-registration (not required!) will be available during business hours at the Residence Life Office in Marye House.
  • Wednesday, April 1 – Housing as space permits or waiting list option for current students, readmits, and returning students who did not meet contract deadline of February 13.   Commuting students may also select at this time, space permitting, or be placed on the housing waiting list. – Marye House, beginning at 9:00 a.m., first come, first served.
