It's not unusual to have some questions after you receive your assignment. Please look over this information and contact our office if your questions are not answered.

Where do I find my assignment?

You can access your assignment through the Eaglelink portal. It's under the University Life tab. The channel is on the right hand side of the page.

What is a temporary assignment?

The assignment you’ve been given is in a temporary space. The demand for on-campus housing was overwhelming and some difficult choices had to be made to accommodate everyone.   You have been housed in a temporary triple - a larger double room that will house three people until additional space is available.  When a permanent space becomes available on campus, we will contact you and your roommates to determine who would like to be reassigned.  We hope to have a number of people reassigned before we open in August, however, it is possible that you will be reassigned after your arrival on campus. It is also possible that you could remain in your current assignment until the Spring 2009 semester.  Reassignment is not mandatory and you have the option of remaining in the temporary triple if it is working out for you and your roommates.  We strongly recommend that you talk with your roommates and bring only what you absolutely need in the beginning to best utilize room space.  The Residence Life staff will be available to help work with you on roommate agreements and to offer suggestions on how best to use the space in your room.

You are currently being charged for a triple room.  When the room returns to the original double capacity, the residents remaining in that room will be charged the prorated double rate.  It will not be an option to retain the room at the triple rate once one of the roommates has been reassigned.

I don't have a roommate. Will i be assigned one?

Yes. We have a number of outstanding assignments and as of July 7, 2008, we have not yet assigned incoming transfer students.

I got a message that my roommate information was not available. What does that mean?

It means that your roommate has elected to keep their information confidential. Individuals in this situation have been contacted directly and asked to contact you.

I didn't get my first choice building. Why is that?

Of the students who indicated a preference, 55% got their first choice. The most frequently requested buildings are Alvey and Mason halls. For those buildings, 42% of the students who requested Alvey were assigned there and 59% of the students who requested Mason received an assignment in that building. We understand that it can be disappointing not to get your first choice but we encourage you to seek out the wonderful aspects of the community you've been assigned to!

We will update these questions as others come in. Don't be afraid to ask - it's likely if you have a question, someone else does too!
