Who can participate in the program?
FYE Community is open only to incoming freshman students who are open-minded and have a sincere desire to be successful leaders. No prior leadership experience is necessary for membership. In order to be considered for Fall 2008 community membership, completed applications and essays must be submitted by June 13, 2008.
(Note: Applications are received on a rolling basis. Applicants may be placed on the FYE waiting list if approved by not placed due to available space within the community)
How to Apply:
To initiate the process for community membership indicate your interest by checking the appropriate box on the Housing and Dining Services Contract. Additionally, applicants much submit an essay and include the following essay sub-topics:
A: How do you see the role of a follower within a group setting?
B: What personal attributes would you like to improve?
C: Describe the leadership program of your dreams.
*max 2 pages per sub-topic
Essay should be no longer than six pages, submitted in MLA or APA style, and of academic quality. All essays should be submitted to Assistant Director Christopher Medley via e-mail.
If you are interested in living in this community but have already submitted your housing contract, please contact the Office of Residence Life.
