Residence Life Open House Information

Residence Life would like to welcome incoming students to our Open House on July 26, 2008. Registration is not required!

The schedule of events is:

8:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. - EagleOne ID Center open at Woodard Campus Center*
You have the option of submitting a photo online through the Eaglelink Portal or having your ID photo taken while on campus. Everyone will get their EagleOne ID upon arrival in the fall.

9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. - UMW Bookstore open*

10:00 A.M. - Open house for those assigned to RUSSELL, MASON, and ALVEY Halls. Members of the Residence Life staff will meet parents and students in the lobby area. After a brief meeting addressing topics of interest to incoming students, all students will be welcome to view their rooms. Area vendors will have display rooms that provide examples of what to buy and how to arrange the room to maximize the space.

1:00 P.M. - Open house for those assigned to VIRGINIA, CUSTIS, AND JEFFERSON Halls. Members of the Residence Life staff will meet parents and students in the lobby area. After a brief meeting addressing topics of interest to incoming students, all students will be welcome to view their rooms. Area vendors will have display rooms that provide examples of what to buy and how to arrange the room to maximize the space.

The following offices will be open during the Open House for your convenience:

Financial Aid - 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Student Accounts - 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Cashier - 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.

*Haven't signed up for Textbook Reservation yet? You can sign up during the Open House at both the UMW Bookstore and the EagleOne ID Center.

Due to dining hall renovations, no UMW food service will be available during the Open House.

Tour Information

Anyone who cannot make the Open House can make an appointment with Chris O'Donnell between July 7 and July 25 and he would be happy to assist in a Residence Hall tour. For further information and questions please call the Office of Residence Life at (540) 654-1058.

*We regret that no tours will be given after July 25 due to the Residence Life training schedule. Please plan accordingly.

Housing assignments for Fall 2008

Housing assignments and roommate information for incoming first year students will be available after July 7, 2008 on the Eaglelink portal. The housing assignment channel is located on the University Life tab.

Housing assignments for incoming transfer students will not be available until August.
