Summer Destinations 2007
Reggie Richards-Peelle ‘08
This summer Reggie was a theatre instructor at Independent Lake Camp in Orson, PA, where they produced a full-length musical every two weeks. Reggie directed High School Musical and also taught classes in acting, improvisation and musical theatre.
Sarah Rupert ‘07
Sarah drove cross-country to be a part of the Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice program in New Mexico. She spent her summer learning how to make wigs for the theatre and was a part of the wardrobe crews for La Bohème, Daphne, Tea: A Mirror of Soul, Platée, and Così fan tutte.
David Ryan Spry ‘08
David was the Assistant Lighting Designer for the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, MN. He worked on both of the festival’s mainstage productions, Macbeth and As You Like It.
Jon Reynolds ’07 & Jenna Doolittle ‘07
In the spring of 2007 Jon and Jenna auditioned and was chosen to participate in Signature Theatre's Overtures program. As part of this two-week intensive program, they received instruction in acting, vocal and dance technique from Eric Schaeffer (artistic director of Signature Theatre), Karma Camp (nationally-recognized choreographer), Jane Pesci-Townsend (head of the musical theatre program at Catholic University in Washington, DC), Emily Skinner (Tony Award-nominee for Side Show), and many other professional instructors. Overtures concluded with a showcase performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
Karen McCullough ‘08
Karen worked for her third year as a concessionaire with a traveling circus called circus Smirkus that is based in New England. The circus is for youth performers such as acrobats and jugglers. This summer, Karen learned how to juggle.
Emma Klemt ‘08
Emma was given two opportunities to work with the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA this summer. She was a counselor at the Midsummer Day Camp for students age 9-12 and participated in the Young Company Theatre Alumni Camp where she played Speed in Two Gentlemen of Verona.
Donna Weber ‘08
Donna worked as a Box Office Assistant with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival in Atlanta, GA. This summer the Festival produced Metamorphosis, The Servant of Two Masters, Robin Hood, Pericles, and Loot.
Caitlin Lucia ‘08
Caitlin stage managed Four County Player's production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Four County Player's is a non-profit community theatre located in Barboursville, Virginia. All proceeds from ticket sales to a scholarship program which I benefited from my freshman year.
