August 19 CGPS Opening Staff Meeting
August 20 UMW Opening Faculty Meetings and Convocation
August 22 Letters of recommendation for promotion submitted to program director.
August 24

First day of classes for 16-week and first 8-week courses
Last day to add first 8-week Monday course. (Note: students in 8-week courses who do not attend the first class period may not register for the course without permission of the program director.)

August 26 Program director reviews colleagues' written promotion recommendations with named faculty member
August 29 Last day to register or add 16-week courses
September 2 Last day to drop first 8-week courses without a grade of "W"
September 11 Tentative Spring 2010 course schedule and staffing plans due to Associate Vice-President
September 11 Last day to drop 16-week courses without a grade of "W"
September 14 Deadline for 2010-2011 Sabbatical Applications
September 16 Academic Council Meeting
September 17-18 BOV Meeting
September 18 Last day to drop first 8-week courses without an automatic "F"
September 18 Deadline for Jepson Fellowship Application
September 22 CGPS Resource Fair 4:00 - 7:00 pm

October 1 Program director submits candidate's promotion file to Dean
October 10 Last day of classes for first 8-week courses
October 12-13 Fall Break for 16-week courses
October 12-17 Final exams for first 8-week courses
October 19 First day of classes for second 8-week courses
Last day to add second 8-week Monday course (Note: Students in 8-week courses who do not attend the first class period may not register for the course without permission of the program director.)
October 20 Dean transmits Promotion Credentials file to the Faculty Promotion Committee
October 21 Academic Council Meeting
October 21 Grades for the first 8-week courses due to Registrar at noon
October 23 Last day to drop a 16-week course without an automatic "F"
October 23 Tentative Summer 2010 course schedule and staffing plans due to Senior Associate Dean
October 26 Textbook orders for Spring 2010 due
October 26 - November 6 Advance registration for Spring 2010 semester for currently enrolled students
October 28 Last day to drop a second 8-week course without a grade of "W"
November 1 Course evaluation data provided to faculty for first 8-week courses
November 2 Completed course schedule worksheets for Summer 2010 due to Registrar by noon
November 16 Registration for Spring 2010 for new students
November 18 Academic Council Meeting
November 17 Last day to drop a second 8-week course without an automatic "F"
November 19-20 BOV Meeting
November 23 - December 5 Evaluations of second 8-week and 16-week courses
November 25-29 Thanksgiving break (second 8-week course work to be incorporated in online delivery and/or additional class times, as determined by faculty member.)
December 5 Last day to withdraw for students in second 8-week courses and/or 16-week courses
December 5 Last day of classes for the second 8-week and 16-week courses
December 7-12 Final exams for second 8-week and 16-week courses
December 8 Notification of Jepson Fellowship Awards
December 16 Grades for all students due to Registrar by noon
January 8 Course evaluation data provided to faculty for second 8-week and 16-week courses

Inclement weather/legal holiday make-up classes are as determined by the instructor.

Notify Senior Associate Dean of make-up plans.
