Regalia and Personalized Announcements

All marching graduates are required to purchase regalia.
All credit cards accepted. Students who do not order online will need to purchase regalia during graduation week at the UMW Bookstore and will be assessed a $5.00 late fee.

Reception and awards ceremony
The CGPS Reception Honoring all 2009 Graduates, a Presentation of Student Awards, and a Hooding Ceremony for Master's Degree Candidates will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 5:30 PM in University Hall. Please RSVP by Thursday, April 30, 2009 providing the total number in your party, to Janet West, (540) 286-8080 or contact her by email.
Participants in the ceremony are reminded to wear their full regalia. Master degree candidates will be hooded during the ceremony, so please be sure to bring your hood with you along with your cap and gown.
Rehearsal
A mandatory rehearsal for all graduates participating in the commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009.
Undergraduate degree candidates report to the main floor of Dodd Auditorium at 1:00 pm for graduation-related information and rehearsal.

ALL degree candidates of the Class of 2009 are expected to attend both the rehearsal and the ceremony. If you cannot attend you must request permission, in writing, to be excused no later than April 24, 2009. Email, fax, or mail, are all acceptable. Direct your request to:

Commencement
On Saturday, May 9, 2009, all degree candidates will line up for processional at Jefferson Square, which is the driveway around Combs, Jefferson and Bushnell Halls, by 8:15 am sharp. There will be faculty and staff available to help with regalia.
At exactly 9:00 am, candidates will proceed down campus walk, through the faculty and President’s receiving lines, to Ball Circle for the conferring of degrees.
Graduation Luncheon
The graduation luncheon will be at Palmieri Plaza, immediately following the ceremony. In case of rain, the luncheon will be held in Seacobeck Hall.
Tickets must be picked up between April 21 and May 8, 2009, at the Cashier’s Office in Lee Hall. Each candidate is issued 3 complimentary tickets (1 for the graduate and 2 for guests). Additional tickets may be purchased at the same location for $10 each. Children 6 and under do not require tickets.
