Skills for Professional Advancement
The University of Mary Washington's Technology Academy offers industry recognized non-credit Information Technology certificate programs to help individuals stay abreast of emerging technologies and gain new knowledge to remain competitive as well as productive.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "technical or professional certification is a way by which employers ensure the competency or quality of computer professionals." Technology certificates tell employers that your computer skills are up-to-date -- a crucial component for any resume geared toward a computer-oriented career.
