The CGPS Writing Center is happy to announce online tutoring through Elluminate Live!  This serivce allows you to meet online with a tutor to discuss, revise, and save your paper.  A recording of your session will also be sent to you.

All online appointment requests must be made through the Writing Center Secretary, Laura McDonald at (540) 286-8024.  When you speak with Laura, be sure to tell her that you are requesting an online tutorial and be prepared to give her at least two dates and times when you could meet with your tutor online.  The Writing Center will confirm your meeting date and time via e-mail and provide you with a link to your live online session.

Drop your paper into the digital drop-box at least 24 hours prior to your appointment so that your tutor may read it in advance of your appointment.

Please read the training links provided on the right side of this text. It will be necessary to do three things before your appointment.

1. Place your paper in the digital drop-box.

2. Take a brief 5-minute tutorial for Elluminate.

3. Configure your computer for Elluminate.

Students who do not have a microphone or web cam may check them out from the Reserve Desk in the CGPS library. This equipment is for CGPS Writing Conference use only.
