Education Resources

Education Journals in the Stafford Library - These are the print journals available in the CGPS Stafford Library.

Blue Web'n

Blue Web'n is an online library of outstanding Internet sites categorized by Dewey Decimal Numbers, subject, grade level, and format (tools, references, lessons, hotlists, resources, tutorials, activities, projects).

Education Resources Information Center (ERIC)

The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education, is a database of journal and non-journal education literature. The ERIC online system provides a centralized site for searching the ERIC bibliographic database of more than 1.1 million citations going back to 1966. More than 107,000 full-text non-journal documents (issued 1993-2004), previously available through fee-based services only, are now available for free.

ERIC Clearinghouses Still on the Web - ERIC data was collected and processed by a number of ERIC Clearinghouses that were the subject matter specialists on a particular topic; for example, disabilities and gifted education. Prior to the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) going online in December 2004, many of the clearinghouses closed. However there are a few clearinghouse sites that remain available. These sites are a useful research resource and many have full text sources.

The Gateway to Educational Materials

The Gateway to Educational Material (GEM) contains over 40,000 records for full text education resources and help teachers find lesson plans, curriculum, and other educational resources on the Web.

KidsClick!

This directory's purpose is to guide young users to "valuable and age appropriate" Web sites; it provides resources for teachers, students, and parents to help prepare lesson plans, research papers, and enrich children's lives.

Internet Public Library (IPL)

This outstanding reference sites features sections for kids and teens. The Helping Girls Succeed guide is highly recommended; its purpose is to "inform educators, counselors, parents, and librarians of the wealth of resources available that address the unique needs of preteen and adolescent girls."

Social Studies Lesson Plans and Resources

The award-winning site by Dr. Marty Levine, Professor Emeritus of Secondary Education, California State University, Northridge (CSUN), features lesson plans and resources which social studies teachers will find useful.
