Education
Resources Information Center (ERIC)
The
Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the
Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of
Education, is a database of journal and non-journal education literature.
The ERIC online system provides a centralized site for searching
the ERIC bibliographic database of more than 1.1 million citations
going back to 1966. More than 107,000 full-text non-journal documents
(issued 1993-2004), previously available through fee-based services
only, are now available for free.
ERIC
Clearinghouses Still on the Web - ERIC
data was collected and processed by a number of ERIC Clearinghouses
that were the subject matter specialists on a particular topic;
for example, disabilities and gifted education. Prior to the
Education Resources Information
Center (ERIC) going online in December
2004, many of the clearinghouses closed. However there are a few
clearinghouse sites that remain available. These sites are a useful
research resource and many have full text sources.
The

The
Gateway to Educational Material (GEM) contains over 40,000 records
for full text education resources and help teachers find lesson
plans, curriculum, and other educational resources on the Web.
