What's new in the Eaglelink Portal?
College of Graduate and Professional Studies Library Resource Channels- Four resource channels were developed for students in CGPS programs. The channels may be added to any user's layout. Step-by-step instructions are provided in the Eaglelink Customization Tutorial.

Alert UMW Channel- The new channel provides users with access to: register for the Emergency Notification System, view Emergency Contact Numbers and view Campus Advisories.

Facilities Work Management Channel -The new automated work management system for all UMW faculty, staff and students. No more searching for paper forms or calling in to the work management telephone number. Work requests will be submitted via the new “Facilities Work Management” channel on the “Eaglelink Home” tab within the Eaglelink Portal.

Online Photo Submission and Textbook Reservation Program for incoming fall 2008 students on the College of Arts and Sciences campus. Incoming freshman and transfer students that are new to the Fredericksburg campus will be able to submit their ID card photo online and pick their card up at orientation. This is the first time that students on the College of Arts and Science campus have been given the option to submit their photo online or go to the EagleOne office to have their photo taken. These same students may reserve their textbooks in advance through the Textbook Reservation Program.

Faculty, employees and students on the College of Graduate and Professional Studies campus will have their own version of this new channel without the online photo submission functionality.

Hands-on, Eaglelink portal customization training - faculty, students and employees can add their own tabs and channels to their portal layout for a more customized look and feel. New channels such as: Where's Nemo?, Going Green 101, Gas Prices Today, CNN Election 08, 2008 Beijing Olympics and many more are available and can be added easily. Also, look for old favorites such as: Weather and Bookmarks.
Look under the "Tutorials" section of this web page for the "Customizing Eaglelink" tutorials. The tutorials will walk you through all of the options available, as well as, show you detailed steps for customization.
Where's Nemo?-

Going Green 101-
Learn how you can help the environment by making simple changes in your lifestyle. This channel provides the user with information and links to green organizations.

CNN Election 08-

2008 Beijing Olympics-
Keep up on the latest news from the Beijing Olympics.

Weather-
This has been a favorite since the Eaglelink portal was launched May 15th 2007.

Bookmarks-
The Bookmarks channel isn't fancy but is very useful and popular with users. This channel allows a user to save their favorite URLs in the channel instead of in their browser. This will allow them to access their favorite links regardless of what computer they are using at the time. No more searching to try and find that favorite link; the one that is saved in the browser of a user's personal computer! Some users like this channel so much that they have two: Bookmarks and Bookmarks Plus.
