To proactively meet the changing needs of UMW employees through workforce planning, compliance training, professional development, and career exploration.

The Employee Development Program is now up and running! This program gives you the opportunity to develop yourself professionally through various training courses, on-line tools, and career assessment services. The Employee Development Program began as a pilot program in the Executive Vice President's administrative areas in Fall 2003. So take some time now and go through the website, try out some of the on-line tools, and attend a course or two. Then let us know what you think. The more feedback we receive from you, the better program we will be able to develop for you!

Employee Development Program as part of the "GET CONNECTED" program:

The "Get Connected" initiative began in 2001 as a way to encourage employees to focus on customer service and communication within the college. The motto " Get Connected... to our mission, each other, and ourselves " expresses the theme of quite a few programs over the last few years including: "FISH", Customer Service training courses, Welcome sessions for new employees, and the Best Bet program. The latest addition is the new Employee Development Program. This program is intended to continue the "Get Connected" theme by not only providing employees with learning and development opportunities, but also by giving employees a chance to interact with each other and learn from one another.
