  • Employees intending to retire should contact the HR Office 90 days prior to the intended retirement date to ensure that all necessary paperwork and benefit information can be completed.
  • Once HR has been contacted and the resignation letter received, the procedures outlined in earlier sections (depending on the classification of the employee) should be followed.

Supervisors should stay apprised of employees who may be approaching retirement and plan for the skills and expertise that will be needed to replace these individuals.
