Constance Fletcher Smith, Senior Lecturer in English, earned an M.A. (1970) in English from the University of Pennsylvania, after receiving a B.A. with high honors (1967) in English from the University of Maryland. A frequent instructor for the Student Transition Program, Smith is interested in diversity and women’s issues. She has taught a wide range of students with various backgrounds and educational needs.
Smith also is a member of the Modern Language Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the Virginia Consortium of Asian Studies, the Virginia Humanities Conference, as well as a charter member of the Kappa of Virginia chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
