Kathryn E. Loesser-Casey, Professor of Biology, earned a Ph.D. (1988) in cell and developmental biology from Rutgers University and UMDNJ‑Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and a B.A. (1976) in zoology from Drew University (New Jersey). Among awards and fellowships that she has received are the Rose Memorial Scholarship from Drew University, the Leathem Fellowship from Rutgers University, the Steinetz Fellowship from Rutgers University, and membership in Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. She is the recipient of two large research grants, one from the National Institutes of Health and one from the National Science Foundation. Dr. Loesser-Casey also is a member of several academic societies including the Virginia Academy of Sciences and the International Society for Heart Research. Her research has been published in peer‑reviewed journals such as American Journal of Physiology, Endocrinology, Life Sciences, Journal of Structural Biology, and the American Journal of Medical Science.
