Robert S. Rycroft, Professor of Economics, earned a Ph.D. (1978) and M.A. (1974) from the University of Maryland, after receiving a B.A. (1972) in economics from the College of William and Mary. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and the American Economic Association, Dr. Rycroft is the author of Essentials of Macroeconomics I and II (1989), Hits on the Web: Mankiw Edition (2003, with Carol Lee Clark and Michael R. Dowd) and The Economics of Inequality, Discrimination, Poverty, and Mobility (2009), and a contributor to The Economics Problem Solver and GRE Economics Test. He has published articles in the International Journal of Forecasting, the Journal of Economic Education, Computers in Higher Education Economics Review, and the Nebraska Journal of Economics and Business. Currently, he is editing The Economics of Inequality, Poverty and Discrimination in the 21st Century, scheduled to be published in 2013.

    UMW Faculty & Alumni Contribute to Rycroft’s Book[caption id="attachment_18662" align="alignleft" width="150"]Robert Rycroft Robert Rycroft[/caption] Professor and Chair of Economics Robert Rycroft's book, The Economics of Inequality, Poverty and Discrimination in the 21st Century, has been published. The interdisciplinary book consists of 32 chapters in two volumes. Four chapters are written by UMW faculty members, including Rycroft, Associate Professor of Sociology and Anthropology Kristin Marsh, Associate Professor of Economics Shawn Humphrey and Associate Dean for Operations and Outreach in the College of Business Kimberly Kinsley. UMW alumni Christine Exley '09 and Matthew Parrett '98 also wrote chapters.

    Robert Rycroft Speaks at WorkshopRycroft, Robert06Robert Rycroft, professor of economics, will speak at "The Changing Face of Philanthropy" workshop on Thursday, Jan. 24. The workshop, presented by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads, will explore new fundraising techniques and strategies as well as ways to engage the newest generation of philanthropists.
