Larry W. Penwell, Professor in the College of Business Department of Management and Marketing, earned a Ph.D. (1987) in social psychology, after receiving an M.A. (1981) and a B.A. (1974) in psychology from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the Virginia Psychological Association, and the A.K. Rice Institute.
Dr. Penwell is an organizational development and change consultant with expertise in the areas of group, intergroup, and organizational dynamics, as well as conflict management. He has written numerous scholarly articles ranging in topics from “Problems of Intergroup Behavior in Spaceflight Operations” to “Global Identity and the Superordinate Task.” He also has served as the director of the University’s re-accreditation self study and as Acting Dean of the College of Business.
