Wei Chen earned a Ph.D. in management from Texas Tech University. Her research interests are in business strategy, entrepreneurship, international business, and business history. She presented and published research on a wide range of topics such as international business, research method, management history, institutional entrepreneurship, family business, technology transfer, team management, change management, emerging economies, and higher education in journals and at conferences such as Journal of Management History, International journal of Business and Social Science, Journal of Applied Business and Economics, Western Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, Academy of Management, International Business Research Conference, International Conference of the Association of Global Management Studies, United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and the McGill-Cornell Conference on Institutions and Entrepreneurship. Her research on institutional entrepreneurship and technology transfer won the Best Paper Award by United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and by Journal of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. Besides her academic pursuit, she also translated books in art, worked in the ocean shipping business, and volunteered for nonprofit organizations.
